Two More Apartment Projects Queued Up for Fulton Market
In two separate projects, developers plan more apartments in Fulton Market totaling nearly 700 units, reported Crain’s Chicago Business. A joint venture between Chicago-based Golub and New York developer Azur Holdings has filed plans for a 42-story high-rise with 400 apartments next to City Winery at 1234 W. Randolph St. It would be Azur’s first project in Chicago and Golub’s first in Fulton Market.
A block or so away, CEDARst has proposed a 26-story, 271-unit apartment tower at 1332 and 1338 W. Lake St., the longtime home of Leslie Hindman Auctioneers, Crain’s reported.
After initially attracting office and hotel developers, the Fulton Market District has evolved into an irresistible destination for multifamily builders as rents have achieved new heights.
“It’s the best neighborhood in Chicago,” Joseph McMillan, chairman and CEO of Azur, an international developer formerly known in the U.S. as DDG, told Crain’s.
