Seavest Healthcare Acquires Six Dallas-Area Emergency Hospitals
Baylor, Scott and White agreed to sell the hospitals to the New York-based Seavest. Baylor, which is the largest not-for-profit healthcare system in Texas, has over 52 hospitals and over 800 patient cares sites scattered throughout Texas.
To acquire the properties, Seavest worked with Heitman LLC to arrange the debt financing from the healthcare arm of CIT.
Emergency hospitals that feature 24/7 emergency services, with 8-12 patient beds have been achieving growing importance to healthcare systems. Seavest’s Jonathan Winer says the niche is becoming more popular to investors, “This is another exciting acquisition for Seavest, continuing our strategy of investing in strategic ambulatory facilities aligned with significant healthcare providers.” The facilities were in the towns of Coffeyville, Keller, Grand Prairie, Murphy, Burleson and Rockwall.
