Musk to open Neuralink Austin facility

Musk’s Neuralink Eyeing Austin for Facility

Neuralink, a company from Elon Musk, is reportedly looking at the Austin-area to build a science and tech facility. The site plans filed with Travis County say the company is working on a 37-acre campus that will be located on Caldwell Lane off of Texas 71. The campus will be 20 minutes from Tesla’s Austin gigafactory, another one of Musk’s endeavors. Neuralink is a neurotechnology company that is working on building a computer-brain interface to allow people to control a computer with their minds.

In addition to Tesla and Neuralink, Musk’s The Boring Company also has employees in the Austin area. Meanwhile, Musk’s aerospace company, SpaceX, is planning to build a $43 million facility in Bastrop County. SpaceX would be near where The Boring Company, Musk’s tunneling company, already operates. And finally, Tesla is exploring building a $365 million lithium-hydroxide battery refinery plant in the Texas Gulf town of Robstown.
