Frozen Treat Maker To Chill in Lockhart
A West Virginia frozen treat company has plans to make their Budget Saver Twin Pops in Lockhart. The company makes more than 2.5 million cold treats a day.
The Lockhart City Council approved a five-year property tax incentive plan for The Ziegenfelder Corporation. The Ziegenfelder Company’s application for a Texas Enterprise Fund (TEF) grant is pending approval by the Office of the Governor. The potential Lockhart facility is estimated to be a $30 million investment and would create up to 100 jobs in a 42,000 square foot facility.
Back in April, the council approved the sale of nearly seven acres in the 130 Industrial Park to the company for $813,000. The City estimated that the net benefit of the agreement would be $1.6 million. The Caldwell County Commissioners are reportedly set to discuss additional incentives at their next meeting.
