Georgetown City Council Gives Early Okay to Mixed-Use Project at Former School
The city sees the site at Williams Drive and Park Lane as “catalytic”. Julie Ward with Partners Capital wants to do it right, “It’s a very special project near and dear to our hearts. We believe that a great development can also bring very cool spaces to the users of Georgetown.” The development will be part of the Williams Drive Gateway Plan. The plan focuses on a 558-acre area along Williams Drive. The vision, according to the study, is to create a vibrant mixed-use center and gateway.
The site plan includes commercial, retail, office and residential. The location is on fifteen acres of land which used to be an elementary school campus. It will have a centralized green space located between the commercial and multifamily uses.
The Georgetown City Council gave the project tentative approval, it won’t be official until the second reading in September.
