Imposing Data Center Campus Slated for Hutto
Dallas-based Skybox Datacenters and Prologis have purchased 220 acres from the City of Hutto. They plan to build a campus of data centers.
The land is part of the Hutto Megasite, a large tract for development of business on the south side of US Highway 79. “The City of Hutto is very attractive for its strong workforce, prime location and pro-growth mindset,” said Prologis’ JC Witt. “The site is a rare find and we’re thrilled to have the opportunity to work with the City and Skybox Datacenters to develop it.”
The two companies are in the process of building a campus in nearby Pflugerville. It’s on 20 acres and the company has said the project will cost over $500 million. The Hutto project is expected to be much larger.
The proposed $17 billion Samsung semiconductor factory is being built less than ten miles away in N. Austin.
