Allen Matkins Appoints Partners to New Leadership Roles

Real estate and business law firm Allen Matkins has named new leadership roles in several of the departments and practice areas of the Los Angeles-based firm. Partner Scott Leipzig has been tabbed Chair of the firm’s Litigation Department; partners Kate Kraus and Jessica Chu were named Co-Chairs of the firm’s Tax & Joint Ventures Group; and partner Kamran Javandel is the new Co-Chair of Allen Matkins Land Use, Environmental and Natural Resources Group.

“Scott, Kate, Jessica and Kamran possess tremendous leadership skills and have a strong vision for our future,” said Jeff Patterson, Managing Partner at Allen Matkins. 

Leipzig brings substantial experience handling real estate, partnership, finance, insurance, entertainment and commercial disputes. He was recently named to the Los Angeles Business Journal’s Top Litigators & Trial Lawyers. Kraus has extensive experience in tax planning and structuring while Chu’s practice focuses on structure, negotiating and documenting complex joint ventures. Javandel combines extensive environmental law experience with his background as an environmental toxicologist and consultant.

Mark comes to ConnectCRE with an extensive background as a business and news reporter in San Francisco radio, as well as 35 years as a traffic reporter on several stations including KGO, KNBR, KCBS and KFRC. As a business reporter, Mark covered the tech world in Silicon Valley where he became familiar with real estate transactions in the hot Bay Area marketplace. He attended San Jose State University with a BA in Radio and TV Broadcasting and currently resides in the Lake Tahoe area where he gets to frequently enjoy all of his favorite activities: Golfing, Fishing, Hiking and Skiing.
