Toshiba Global Commerce Solutions Plans New Innovation Hub in Frisco

Toshiba Global Commerce Solutions is looking to “reimagine the store of the future” from its new hub in Frisco. The company is starting modestly in Frisco, just bringing in 50 new jobs, but plans to grow that number of 150 within the next two year.

Toshiba’s Rance Poehler describes the company’s new thinking, “We’re focused on providing scalable, customer-centric solutions that deliver optimized experiences to meet consumers when, where and how they shop.”

The company’s new incubation and innovation hub will be located on the sixth floor at Frisco’s Hall Park Development. The company is recruiting people with cloud, micro services and edge computing skills. Toshiba launched the latest version of its ELERA commerce platform to accelerate retailer digital transformation and support the connected story experience. The company has been courting potential buyers and some analysts believe they’d valued at $22 billion.
