IT’SUGAR Expands in NYC with Former Modell’s Times Square Site
In a transaction arranged by CBRE, IT’SUGAR, a specialty candy store, has committed to a new retail lease at 234 W. 42nd St. in Times Square. IT’SUGAR will occupy 20,335 square feet of retail space formerly housing Modell’s.
The CBRE team of Lon Rubackin, Mike Kadosh and Bevan Cohen represented IT’SUGAR in negotiations with the property’s owner, Torchlight Investors.
“The property at 234 W. 42nd St. anchors the block between Seventh and Eighth avenues in Times Square and offers our client the ideal platform for its New York City shop,” said Rubackin. “Times Square remains one of the most highly visited locations on the planet and as such is perfect for this unique concept.”
The new store will be IT’SUGAR’s sixth in New York City, joining existing outlets in Herald Square, Rockefeller Center, NoHo and the Upper West Side of Manhattan and Coney Island in Brooklyn.
