Austin’s Fifth & Tillery Converted From Industrial to Office

An architectural firm has helped convert what was once a pedestrian industrial building into a stylish office complex. Most of the Austin warehouse was gutted, and what’s left is a 182,716 square foot office of tree-lined courtyards, and open air plazas. The property was acquired by the CIM group in 2019, and from there, it was up to Gensler. Gensler’s Michael Waddell explains, “The project scope was limited due the footprint of the existing warehouse, so ultimately, the project is an adaptive reuse of the existing building pad and site infrastructure.”

The project has solar panels over the entire roof providing shade, and 600 kilowatt-hours of power for the offices. In addition, water cisterns were installed throughout to catch rain water to irrigate the lush environs.
