1355 and 1856 W. Chicago Ave., two mixed-use properties in Chicago's West Town neighborhood, have changed hands

Essex Closes Sales of Two West Town Assets

Essex Realty Group recently facilitated the sale of 1355 W. Chicago Ave,, a 34-unit mixed-use building, and 1856 W. Chicago Ave., a 14-unit mixed-use building. Both properties are in the West Side’s West Town neighborhood.

Principals Jim Darrow and Jordan Gottlieb and associate Sarah Rider led an extensive marketing campaign resulting in 43 property tours and 13 offers. Managing director Brian Karmowski represented 1355 W. Chicago’s buyer, who purchased the property for $4,500,000.

Darrow and Gottlieb also represented the seller of 1856 W. Chicago Ave. Going under contract after just two weeks on the market, 1856 W. Chicago sold to a local investor for $2,760,000.

“We were thrilled to obtain these listings from a well-established West Town owner/investor,” said Gottlieb. “Properties of this size rarely trade in the area, which makes these two transactions particularly significant.”
