New 33MW Data Center Slated for Vernon

New 33MW Data Center Slated for Vernon

Prime Data Centers, a data center developer and operator, has announced the launch of a three-story, 261,000-square-foot data center in Vernon, CA. With a 49.5MVA substation to serve the new complex, the facility will deliver up to 33MW of power to its tenants.

Power delivery is provided by Vernon’s municipally owned utility (VPU), and Prime will receive VPU’s lowest commercial rate. The facility is in the heart of central Los Angeles, offering unique opportunities for data center tenants to have access to hundreds of carriers and service providers.

“As our first data center development in Southern California, this bolsters our strong presence across the rest of the state,” says Prime’s CEO Nicholas Laag. “Los Angeles is a thriving global connectivity market, and our new hyperscale Vernon data center will be right in the middle of it all.”

JLL’s Darren Eades handled the land acquisition and served as consultant to secure the power from the City of Vernon.
