Cherry Valley Marketplace Commits to Douglaston Project in the Bronx
Douglaston Development has sealed an 8,456-square-foot, 40-year lease with Cherry Valley Marketplace, a New York City-based grocery purveyor. Cherry Valley Marketplace will operate a more than 20,000-square-foot Food Retail Expansion to Support Health (FRESH) certified marketplace at 2856 Webster Ave. and 410 Bedford Park Blvd. in the Bronx’s Bedford section. Cherry Valley has been operational onsite during the phased development and has occupied this location in its existing store for more than 14 years.
This transaction is part of the two-phased, mixed-used project that will deliver approximately 467 units of affordable housing to the community at 2856 Webster and 410 Bedford Park upon completion, near the New York Botanical Garden’s 250-acre grounds.
“Ensuring Cherry Valley Marketplace’s continued operations in the neighborhood has been of great importance as it provides a much-needed food offering to the Bedford community,” said Russell Lang, SVP at Douglaston Development.
