BPG Debuts $2.5M Courtyard at City Square
Los Angeles-based Barker Pacific Group (BPG) has announced the completion of City Square Plaza, a new Gensler-designed gathering spot in the Central Avenue business corridor of Phoenix.
Since BPG took ownership of City Square, a three-tower high-rise office complex in Midtown Phoenix, the firm has spent more than $30 million in renovations, and part of the business plan called for an upgrade of the courtyard area.
“City Square Plaza pulls together all three buildings with a modern designed outdoor space that provides tenants and neighbors a great space to take a break, eat lunch or enjoy an event,” said BPG’s CEO Michael Barker in a news release.
The Gensler-designed project features 60 foot windsails that not only provide shade, but also glow with LED lighting in the evening. The renovation also includes an event stage, pavers, landscaping, seating and a new coffee kiosk.
