SF Housing Advocates Score with New, Affordable Projects

The goal of increasing access to affordable housing is getting a boost in San Francisco with the city, developers, realtors and housing advocates all hoping for an all-around win on this front.

Mayor London Breed’s office and the SF Board of Supervisors have closed a deal with Maximus Real Estate Partners and Crescent Heights, a development firm, to add 330 low-income units at 1979 Mission Street.

The land sale to Crescent Heights comes in at $42 million, with the rider that the firm fulfill a prior obligation to add a 55-story residential tower at 10 South Van Ness Ave.

The Chronicle reports that the Office of Housing and Community Development is now seeking a nonprofit to build the affordable housing units.
