Unispace has acquired BioPharma Engineering, a Cork, Ireland-based firm that designs and delivers laboratory, research and manufacturing facility space for the life sciences industry

Unispace Acquires Life Sciences Facility Design Firm BioPharma Engineering

Boston, MA-based Unispace, a workplace strategy, design and construction firm, has acquired BioPharma Engineering. The Cork, Ireland-based firm designs and delivers laboratory, research and manufacturing facility space for the life sciences industry.

Blitzer, Clancy & Company advised Unispace in the acquisition.

“Partnering with BPE is a natural move for us,” said Steve Quick, CEO of Unispace. “Companies in this sector are challenged with expanding their footprint rapidly to meet skyrocketing demand.”

Unispace’s current clients include Boston Scientific, Abbott and Merck. The acquisition of BPE, which will become BPE, A Unispace Life Sciences Company, gives Unispace additional technical capabilities to lead additional project types including laboratory, research and manufacturing facilities.

BPE’s employees will join Unispace’s global team, led by BPE managing director John O’Reilly, who has also been appointed Unispace’s global managing director for life sciences. O’Reilly will continue to be based in Cork, Ireland, and the location will become Unispace’s center life sciences specialization.

Inside The Story

About Lisa McDuffie

Lisa McDuffie arrives at ConnectCRE via REALTOR® world, where she served for nearly two decades as communications director for one of the nation’s largest REALTOR® organizations. She supported two membership-elected presidents who were commercial real estate practitioners, and managed the communications initiatives of the organization’s commercial special interest group. When not following the latest commercial real estate news, Lisa is zeroed in on her charismatic off-the-track thoroughbred as she makes the transition from an utterly failed racehorse to a lovely show hunter.
