Keller Williams ONEChicago Brokers Hyde Park Mixed-Use Deal for $10M

Keller Williams ONEChicago has brokered the sale of the 40-unit, mixed-use property at 5228 Blackstone St. in the South Side’s Hyde Park for $10.4 million. According to the company, the sale represents the community’s largest transaction for a single, mixed-use property with less than 100 units.

ONEChicago’s Frank Martinez and Tony Hardy represented the buyer and seller, respectively. The buyer plans to keep the 5228 S Blackstone as a long-term investment due to tenants:

• The Hyde Park Salon & Barber: Since 1927, barbers have been continually operating out of this location, which was featured in the movie “Barbershop”
• Boston Market: The property’s anchor tenant has operated at this location since the mid-1990s.
• Betty O’s Day Spa: The facility at this location was listed as one of Oprah’s “Favorite Things” in the 1980s.

The property generated 17 offers and a $3.5-million over-list sale price.
