Sunset Sells 31-Acre Parcel in Bishop Ranch to SummerHill Homes
Marking a major milestone in long-envisioned plans to create a walkable mixed-use district in San Ramon, Sunset Development Company recently sold a 31-acre parcel in Bishop Ranch to SummerHill Homes. The homebuilder will build three neighborhoods offering 404 for-sale detached houses and townhomes as part of a phased master-planned residential development in Bishop Ranch.
This will help realize San Ramon’s decades-long vision of creating a mixed-use district that seamlessly blends housing close to jobs, parks, trails, transportation hubs, retail and dining. The new residential development called City Village will be created in close collaboration with Sunset Development.
“SummerHill Homes’ plans for City Village represent a turning point in the history of Bishop Ranch and in the city’s dream of providing a walkable pedestrian- and transit-oriented mixed-use district,” said Alex Mehran Jr., president and chief executive officer of Sunset Development Company, developer and owner of Bishop Ranch.
City Village will be built at 2400 Camino Ramon, the northwest corner of Camino Ramon and Executive Parkway. To accommodate the new housing, an existing office property, BR6, will be razed. Sunset officials have worked closely with the property’s office tenants to help them relocate to other comparable workspaces elsewhere among Bishop Ranch’s large portfolio of office properties.
