Hanley Raises Funds, Awareness for Men’s Health Causes During Movember

Hanley Investment Group Real Estate Advisors raised $31,931 during its 2021 Movember campaign. This year’s campaign, which was dedicated to “Save a Father, Son, Brother and Loved One,” marked Hanley Investment Group’s 11th consecutive year.

The fundraiser encourages Hanley’s male workforce to grow moustaches during November to raise awareness and funds for prostate cancer, testicular cancer, mental health and suicide prevention. The firm has now raised more than $300,000 since 2011.

“Helping to raise funds and awareness for men’s health projects around the world is a great way for us to honor men, like my father, who died too young,” said Ed Hanley, Hanley Investment Group’s president. “This is a cause that is very important to me and our company, and I am very grateful to all who supported this effort and donated.”

Movember is the leading charity dedicated to changing the face of men’s health in the U.S. and around the world. During Movember, men start Movember 1st clean-shaven and grow moustaches for the month, getting friends, family and colleagues to donate to their efforts.

“We hope that by calling attention to men’s health, we can save lives,” Hanley said. “For example, not everyone experiences symptoms of prostate cancer. A simple blood test measuring a man’s Prostate Specific Antigen can test for prostate cancer. Early detection is key. My dad died of prostate cancer in 2009, and I don’t want other families and individuals to have to go through what we did.”
