John Deerkoski Joines Thornton Tomasetti to Co-Lead Transportation Practice

John C. Deerkoski has joined Thornton Tomasetti as senior principal and transportation practice co-leader. Based in the New York office, Deerkoski will partner with transportation practice co-leader Sam Summerville on the strategic growth and overall management of the firm’s transportation and infrastructure groups. 

“We are pleased to welcome John to the executive team,” said managing director Gary Panariello. “His extensive technical background, industry experience and team-building leadership style make him a good fit for the expansion of our Transportation practice. Together with Sam, John will focus on ways of working smarter and better for our clients while creating new opportunities for the advancement of staff.” 

Deerkoski has 34 years of experience providing transportation engineering services to public and private clients. Before joining Thornton Tomasetti, Deerkoski was a VP at AECOM, where he was responsible for overseeing the bridge and transportation alternative delivery practices for the New York region.
