WFH Survey Reveals 64% of ME Office-Lease Pros Plan on Staying Put
Among a survey of Maine professionals who self-identify as responsible for their companies’ office lease decisions, the majority (64%) are not planning to make a change to their office footprint as a result of COVID-19.
However, according to the Where is Maine Working? V.2 work-from-home (WFH) office impact survey conducted by The Boulos Company, 14% of respondents’ companies are planning to reduce their square footage (up 3% from the previous survey released in February 2021). Five percent are increasing their square footage (up 2.5%).
The factors that impact the market now include staggered office-reopening plans, a tightening labor market and a full spectrum of hybrid work plans incorporating both office and remote work, observed survey author Christopher Stephenson, vp of operations and marketing for The Boulos Company.
The survey data is sectioned by company demographics, current work locations and office re-openings, return-to work-plans, workplace sentiments, preferences and incentives and office size, and plans for reconfiguration.
