Kayne Anderson Appoints Debby Jenkins to Lead New Multifamily Impact Strategy

Boca Raton-based Kayne Anderson Real Estate has hired Debby Jenkins as head of housing and head of its newly created multifamily impact strategy.

Jenkins brings more than two decades of experience in the multifamily sector to Kayne Anderson. Most recently, she served as executive vice president and head of multifamily at Freddie Mac, where she oversaw the country’s largest provider of financing to the multifamily sector as well as the largest issuer of commercial structured debt in the industry. While at Freddie Mac, Jenkins spent her time providing liquidity and stability to the rental housing market with a focus on affordable housing.

Kayne Anderson’s multifamily impact strategy is an extension of the firm’s existing ESG initiatives and strategic multifamily investments, which comprise more than 7,500 units. The multifamily impact strategy will focus on acquisition and development opportunities in multifamily housing that are affordable to middle and lower income renters.

About Lisa McDuffie

Lisa McDuffie arrives at ConnectCRE via REALTOR® world, where she served for nearly two decades as communications director for one of the nation’s largest REALTOR® organizations. She supported two membership-elected presidents who were commercial real estate practitioners, and managed the communications initiatives of the organization’s commercial special interest group. When not following the latest commercial real estate news, Lisa is zeroed in on her charismatic off-the-track thoroughbred as she makes the transition from an utterly failed racehorse to a lovely show hunter.
