Andy’s Custard Scoops Up First Alamo City Location
Springfield, MO-based Andy’s Frozen Custard is opening its first San Antonio location in front of the Bass Pro Shop at The Rim. Locals can get a first scoop beginning in spring 2022.
The frozen custard chain was founded by Andy and Carol Kuntz in 1986. The stores have branched out from Missouri to include Arizona, Arkansas, Colorado, Florida, Georgia, Illinois, Kansas, Louisiana, North Carolina, Oklahoma, South Carolina, Tennessee and Texas.
The San Antonio location will be owned and operated by Joseph and Andrea Shields. While this is the first location in the city, there are several more stores under negotiation.
Andy’s offers custard, ice cream or the signature “concretes,” a custard mix. The stores offer malts, shakes and floats as well.
