Garrick Brown Lands at Lockehouse as COO

Commercial real estate analyst and research guru Garrick Brown recently joined Lockehouse Retail Group as chief operating officer and director of advisory services. He joins the firm from Newmark, where he was managing director of Western region research.

In late September, Lockehouse announced its expansion into Southern California with the hiring of industry veteran Mike Hieshima and his team, dramatically expanding the firm’s footprint.

“As Lockehouse continues its aggressive growth strategy in the Western U.S., Garrick will play an essential role in continuing that momentum,” says Steve Cutter, Lockehouse Retail Group president. “Garrick’s profound understanding of the retail environment and his vast knowledge of the overall real estate industry is a huge benefit to our current and future clients.”

Brown has held several prominent senior roles with global commercial real estate firms, in addition to Newmark. He is considered one of the nation’s leading real estate analysts, a frequent interview subject for media outlets, and a regular speaker at industry events including NAIOP, ICSC and the Urban Land Institute.

Brown is on the board of directors for North America’s largest retail facilities management trade group, ConnexFM Facilities Management Network. He was the recipient of the International Council of Shopping Centers’ Lifetime Achievement in Research Award in 2019.
