Rubenstein Partners Names Investment Veterans as Northeast Leadership

Rubenstein Partners, L.P. has appointed Michael Happel and Joseph Zuber as the new leadership for its equity investing activities in New York and other major Northeast markets. Between them, Happel and Zuber bring more than 60 years’ experience in commercial real estate investment to Rubenstein.

Happel is the former CEO of New York REIT and CEO of New York City REIT. He has been responsible for more than $3.5 billion of real estate acquisitions in New York City since 2009.

For the past 10 years, Zuber was managing principal of Black Walnut Capital, a real estate private equity entity.  During that time, he also led the restructuring of Amstar Group, a privately owned real estate organization based in Denver.

“We could not be more excited to bring on Mike and Joe to lead our equity investment activities in New York, Boston, and Connecticut,” said Rubenstein founder David Rubenstein.
