Edens Eyes Redevelopment for North DeKalb Mall

Edens has acquired North DeKalb Mall in Decatur, GA in a sale arranged by CBRE, according to published reports. The seller, Sterling Organization, had owned the property since 2014 and put it on the market this past May.

“For more than 50 years, North DeKalb has enjoyed a great history of commerce and a tradition of bringing people together,” Herbert Ames, SVP of development for Edens, said in a statement. “It is an honor to be its next steward, a pivotal role with considerable responsibility to transform a 77-acre infill site. We look forward to dialogue with the community as we look to reshape this place for the next 50 years.”

Located at 2050 Lawrenceville Hwy., North Dekalb Mall has a tenant roster including AMC Theatres, Dollar Tree, Burlington and Marshalls. The property, which dates from the 1960s, has a number of vacancies, published reports say.
