Latin Eatery La Casa Del Mofongo Backfills Former Friday’s in the Bronx

Lee & Associates NYC represented La Casa Del Mofongo del Bronx, an authentic Latin cuisine restaurant, in a new lease for 7,500 square feet at Gun Hill Commons, 1780 Gunhill Rd. in the Bronx. The transaction represents La Casa Del Mofongo’s fifth location. The grand opening is planned for Spring 2022. 

“We’re thrilled to be opening our first location in The Bronx,” said Felix Cabrera, founder, and owner of La Casa Del Mofongo. “We saw an incredible opportunity to expand into a large and well-equipped building that’s convenient and easily accessible.” 

Lee NYC principal Steve Lorenzo represented La Casa Del Mofongo del Bronx and Josh Birns represented landlord Urban Edge Properties in-house.  La Casa Del Mofongo del Bronx will be taking over the freestanding former Friday’s restaurant in the shopping center, which is anchored by Aldi’s Supermarket, Planet Fitness and Petco.
