Tishman Speyer Commits to Net Zero Globally by 2050

Tishman Speyer on Monday announced a commitment to achieve operational net zero carbon emissions by 2050 or sooner across its global portfolio. It encompasses 87 million square feet in 140 properties across North America, Asia, Europe and South America.

Along with eliminating carbon emissions throughout its existing portfolio, Tishman Speyer will ensure clear pathways to net zero for all potential future acquisitions.  The New York City-based firm’s pledge aligns with its commitment to the United Nations’ Principles for Responsible Investment (UN PRI).

“We are dedicated to the health and well-being of our customers and neighborhoods,” said Jonathan Flaherty, global head of sustainability and building technology Innovation at Tishman Speyer. “We design, construct and operate our properties with this is mind. Our commitments to be net zero by 2050 and to the PRI will ensure that as we are enhancing our physical environments, we are also minimizing our environmental impact.”
