Construction Kicks Off on Sorrento Gateway
Amid unprecedented demand for life sciences research and production facilities, Project Management Advisors Inc. (PMA) and Swinerton recently turned dirt on Sorrento Gateway at 4930 Directors Pl. in San Diego. When completed in December 2022, it will be a research and laboratory facility for Healthpeak Properties, a national healthcare REIT.
The project consists of a ground-up 163,000-square-foot five-story warm-shell building, a 14,000-square-foot tenant improvement and 90,000 square feet of basement parking. PMA and Swinerton are collaborating with architect Delawie on this project.
“As project managers, our job starts well before the official groundbreaking, including early and ongoing collaboration with designers and contractors, navigation through the city entitlements and permitting process, and providing a host of advisory services to owners,” said Melissa Plaskonos, vice president of PMA.
