Bright Horizons Opens at Cook County Hospital Redevelopment

Bright Horizons, the largest provider of employer-sponsored child care in the U.S., has opened at Harrison Square, Murphy Development Group’s mixed-use redevelopment of the Cook County Hospital building in the Illinois Medical District.

Newmark’s James Schutter and Larry Kling arranged the 13,500-square-foot space and continue to represent retail leasing on the 13-acre project. MBRE Real Estate is handling office leasing.

“With the continuing phased development and further ground-up development at the site, Harrison Square has demonstrated exceptional community value, bringing much needed hotels to the area and providing tenants space in a dynamic and award-winning environment,” said Schutter. “The project is a vital component of the IMD for patients, community members and tenants, alike.”

The five-phase development features two Hyatt-branded hotels with 210 keys; a 75,000-square-foot Cook County medical office facility; a 10,000-square-foot food hall; and ground-floor museum space dedicated to the legacy of the building.
