Douglaston Brings LES Institution Kossar’s to West Chelsea

Douglaston Development secured a 1,200-square-foot, 15-year, ground-floor lease for Kossar’s Bagels & Bialys at the Ohm in West Chelsea. The retail space at 312 Eleventh Ave. represents Kossar’s second-ever location; the original Lower East Side storefront opened during the Great Depression.

Joshua Young, VP of market rate operations at Clinton Managementthe property management affiliate of Douglaston Development,represented the landlord in the transaction. Peter Braus, managing principal and co-founder of Lee & Associates NYC, negotiated the deal on behalf of the tenant.

“Kossar’s is an authentic New York City institution that has had a loyal fan base since its inception in 1936,” said Braus. “We are excited to grow that customer base and provide the Kossar’s experience in West Chelsea, giving residents and visitors on the West Side the opportunity to enjoy their delicious hand-made goods on a regular basis.”
