San Antonio’s Northside ISD Awards AP a Second Project
Adolfson & Peterson Construction (AP) was awarded a second project from San Antonio’s Northside Independent School District for the redevelopment of Coke R. Stevenson Middle School’s existing athletics building. The project will kick off this month with a planned completion in summer 2022.
The project includes the demolition of the school’s current athletics building and the construction of a new 32,000-square-foot facility featuring MEP upgrades, technology/security systems, exterior grading, site utilities, landscaping and an irrigation system. AP will also build a new 20 by 20-square-foot masonry storage building and two exterior basketball courts. The new addition will also include practice and competition gyms as well as locker room facilities.
“Athletics programs are an important part of a well-rounded curriculum, which means schools like Coke R. Stevenson need modern sport facilities that offer plenty of space for all students,” said Brandon Gaeke, general manager, AP. “Having a client select you for a second project is a testament to a general contractor’s work and it’s proof-positive of the strong relationships we’re building with K-12 districts in Central Texas.”
NextGen Architects is serving as the project’s planning architect.
