USDA Takes 131K-SF at WashREIT’s Braddock Metro Center

Washington Real Estate Investment Trust signed a 131,000-square-foot lease at Braddock Metro Center with the GSA that will bring roughly 725 USDA employees to the Alexandria, VA property. The agency is relocating from more than 184,000 square feet at 3101 Park Center Dr. in Alexandria.

GSA had considered other more efficient space options for the past year to house the Food and Nutrition Service group. The new office at 1320 Braddock Place will be configured to allow for more flexibility and to accommodate future workplace needs, while reducing the agency’s footprint by roughly 29%.

CBRE’s Henry Chapman, Sara Dunston and Richard Downey represented the tenant. Cushman & Wakefield’s Darian LeBlanc, Scott Killie and Howard Traul advised the landlord.
