Obama’s 1980s Pad Hits the Market

The Brooklyn Brownstone where President Barack Obama once rented a top-floor apartment in the 1980s is now for sale.

After Obama graduated from Columbia University, but before he met Michelle, he and a girlfriend shared a top-floor apartment at 640 2nd Street in the Park Slope neighborhood of Brooklyn. That was in the 1980s, when the home was owned by an employee of the nearby Brooklyn Friends School in Park Slope, where Obama’s girlfriend worked as an assistant teacher.

Built in 1903, the three-story, 3,860-square-foot townhouse is offered for just under $4.3 million, or just under $1,113 per square foot.
