McKesson to Acquire NEC Campus for HQ
The McKesson Corp., based in San Francisco, will open a regional office in Irving, TX, a suburb of Dallas. As part of the move, the pharmaceutical company is acquiring the former NEC Corp. of America complex at 6535 State Highway 161, near State Highway 114.
State and local financial incentives attracted McKesson, including $9.7 million from the state’s Texas Enterprise Fund, and an additional $2.1 from the city of Irving. The company is planning an immediate $157 million capital investment in the location, and expects to create at least 975 jobs.
A timeline for the beginning of operations has not yet been announced.
