Hospital Has New Owner, Undergoing Renovations
AMD Global LLC, in partnership with Medical Center Developments, acquired the 192,077-square-foot Heights Hospital at 1917 Ashland St. in Houston. The new owners are revamping the six-story hospital with major renovations that are scheduled for completion by September 2017.
The hospital, formerly operated by Select Specialty Hospitals, houses St. Joseph Medical Center, which will remain anchor and tenant. “St. Joseph has been doing a phenomenal job and continues to operate here today,” he said. “They are, and will continue to be, an important partner in our overall plan,” said Dharmesh Patel, AMD’s CEO.
The plan includes attracting additional tenants, and offering services including labor and delivery, a neonatal unit, pediatric offices, a full orthopedics center, and a wound-care center. A full-service restaurant, called West 19th Grille, will be in the hospital.
