Budweiser Moves on Mission to Be The First Beer on Mars
Budweiser may be taking a giant sip for mankind, as the company announced its plans to send barley, a key ingredient in beer, on SpaceX’s upcoming cargo supply mission to Mars. Budweiser hopes to be the first beer on Mars.
Scheduled to depart on December 4 from Florida’s Cape Canaveral Air Force Station, the ingredient will orbit space for a month before its return to Earth for analysis. The research hopes to answer the question of how barley will respond to microgravity, as well as offer insight on how to better produce barley on Earth.
Budweiser Vice President Ricardo Marques says, “We are excited to begin our research to brew beer for the red planet.”
