Women in Real Estate 2020: Berkadia’s Jennifer Athas Sets Herself Apart

Jennifer Athas is a tenacious and detail-oriented Senior Director at Berkadia who has made her mark on the New England area by participating in more than 50 sales, land, and equity transactions with an aggregate value of over $1 billion. In 2014 she closed a $108.5 million transaction, the highest recorded in Massachusetts, and later sold the land development of Chelsea Clock Lofts for $48.52 million in 2016.

Athas is an experienced investment sales professional who makes it a point to listen to her clients, peers, and competitors to ensure that she makes the most of every tool in her arsenal. It is how she managed to sell a multifamily property in Rhode Island when her competitors failed to. Employing her thorough understanding and extensive attention to detail, Athas brought the property to the attention of a client who she knew would make the most of an apartment that was situated close to a high-end retail property and closed the transaction.

These are just a few of the reasons we chose Athas as one of the 2020 Women in Real Estate Award winners. Connect Media’s Women in Real Estate Awards honor the achievements and inspirational stories of women who have reached respected positions of leadership and play key mentorship roles for others.

Athas capitalized on her enthusiasm for development and design by obtaining her construction supervisors’ license and combined it with her background in finances to ensure she would make an undisputed impact on the industry.
