Women in Real Estate 2020: Columbia Property Trust’s Amy Tabb is the Glue Between Teams
Amy Tabb serves as SVP of Business Development for Columbia Property Trust, a publicly-traded REIT with more than 16 million square feet under management in the Northeast, San Francisco, and Washington, D.C. As a member of Columbia’s Investment Committee and senior leadership team, Tabb acts as a thought leader, providing strategic direction in developing and executing new business initiatives and innovative strategies to achieve the company’s goals and objectives.
As a corporate leader, Tabb oversees many key aspects of the business, including innovation and technology, enterprise risk management, environmental, social, and governance (ESG) initiatives and reporting; and diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) initiatives, along with Columbia’s corporate philanthropy and social responsibility committee. The communications and marketing team reports through Tabb, and she works closely with that team and the real estate/asset management team to ensure activities are aligned with business objectives for the portfolio.
With a focus on creating and driving added value, Tabb serves as a key monitor of day-to-day operations across the platform by ensuring initiatives are planned and executed with the desired business outcomes in mind. “Put simply, Amy is the glue between Columbia’s real estate investment, corporate governance and operations teams,” says a colleague.
