Women in Real Estate 2019: NKF’s Elizabeth Berthelette is a Market Thought Leader

Research director with NKF’s Boston office since July of this year, Elizabeth Berthelette has earned a reputation as a thought leader on market trends over the past 13 years. She’s known as a tireless researcher who never has to be told to put in the extra effort, whether in vetting the accuracy of market reports or organizing a research database.

Berthelette has also helped elevate her personal brand as well as the firm’s brand through growing her social media following and presence. In doing so, she has made invaluable connections throughout the industry and brought attention to NKF’s research materials.

These are just some of the reasons we chose Berthelette as one of the 2019 Women in Real Estate Award winners. Connect Media’s Women in Real Estate Awards honor the achievements and inspirational stories of women who have reached respected positions of leadership and play key mentorship roles for others.

To bring new ideas and different skill sets to the research team at NKF, Berthelette has identified the need for researchers with more quantitative skills (including coding, data mining, etc.). It’s a continuation of her hiring practices at previous companies, where she focused on growing her team with those that bring something new to the table.

The CREW Boston Educational Foundation, which raises money to provide scholarships to women pursuing an education/career in commercial real estate, recently launched a fundraising campaign. A Foundation board member, Berthelette introduced marketing/branding ideas that became the groundwork for the “Build Her Up” campaign.
