Women in Real Estate 2019: Colliers’ Jean Kane Engages with Her Team

CEO of Colliers International’s Minneapolis | St. Paul office since 2012, Jean Kane refuses to sit behind a desk all day. Instead, the 30-year CRE veteran actively engages with her team to determine company-wide initiatives that will increase Colliers’ success for years to come.

Under her leadership, the Twin Cities office has grown to 240 employees and is a respected CRE services provider throughout the Midwest. Kane leads and collaborates with a high-performance team where creative thinking and entrepreneurialism are strongly encouraged.

These are just a couple of the reasons we chose Kane as one of the 2019 Women in Real Estate Award winners. Connect Media’s Women in Real Estate Awards honor the achievements and inspirational stories of women who have reached respected positions of leadership and play key mentorship roles for others.

Minnesota is home to many large brands, including UnitedHealth Group, Target, 3M, Cargill, US Bank, Best Buy and Land O Lakes, and Kane is committed to forward-looking economic development that keeps that corporate talent in the community.

Kane was just the third women to serve as chair of NAIOP in 2014. It was a great honor to represent the trade but one that came with great responsibility. Kane set the strategy and director for the organization of 17,000 at the time. She focused her tenure on diversity and inclusion with a push to recruit and retain diversity, which she considers vital to a healthy industry, business and community.
