Women in Real Estate 2019: URG’s Krista Bailey Transitioned from Property Manager to Development Role

Krista Bailey joined Urban Renaissance Group (URG) in 2014 and was promoted to Vice President of Development and Project Management this past June. The LEED AP-certified leader is responsible for the team effort executing new developments, re-development projects, major capital improvements and tenant improvements within URG’s Portland portfolio of managed and owned assets. Additional responsibilities include developing and implementing strategic direction for the Portland office through strategic client relationships, employee mentoring and ensuring the delivery of a project’s financial results.

Prior to joining URG, Bailey was Vice President of Project management for Cresa, where she provided strategic planning and execution of large-scale real estate projects for corporate users. Previous positions include Development Manager with Shorenstein, where she oversaw ground-up development of Class A office buildings and acted as tenant liaison and project manager for multiple first-generation tenant improvements. Among her activities during her more than four years at Shorenstein included securing entitlements, and executing the design and construction of Kruse Oaks III, a 110,000 square foot office development, as well as at First & Main.

These are just a few of the reasons we chose Bailey as one of the 2019 Women in Real Estate Award winners. Connect Media’s Women in Real Estate Awards honor the achievements and inspirational stories of women who have reached respected positions of leadership and play key mentorship roles for others.

Bailey started her CRE career at Spieker Properties in 1998, which became part of Equity Office in 2001. She served as a senior property manager at Lincoln Center and Nimbus Corporate Park, and shifted into a construction management role for more than six years where she was responsible for the development of Kruse Oaks II in Portland.
