Women in Real Estate 2019: Fairfield Residential’s Kim Bender Builds National Portfolio
Fairfield Residential’s Kim Bender, Executive Vice President, serves as the head of its property management operations. The San Diego-based commercial real estate leader is responsible for Fairfield’s multifamily portfolio of 40,000 units in 36 markets nationally.
Bender also oversees many of the support services for the property management group including strategic operations, marketing and training. She joined Fairfield in 2001 as a regional supervisor, and has held several key leadership roles at the company.
These are just a few of the reasons we chose Bender as one of the 2019 Women in Real Estate Award winners. Connect Media’s Women in Real Estate Awards honor the achievements and inspirational stories of women who have reached respected positions of leadership and play key mentorship roles for others.
Bender brings more than 30 years of industry experience at both privately-held management companies and REITS, as well as managing conventional and affordable apartment communities. She began her career in property management at Hall Financial Group, Inc. Subsequently, she worked with National Housing Partnership Incorporated (NHP) and oversaw assets for The NHP Foundation. As a result of the AIMCO purchase of NHP, she began supervising AIMCO properties in both Texas and California where she held various management positions.
Bender holds certifications as an NCP-E (National Compliance Professional- Executive), CAPS (Certified Apartment Property Supervisor) and a CPM designation with the Institute of Real Estate Management. She also has a California Real Estate license.
