Top Broker Honoree: Will Balthrope

Will Balthrope is executive managing director of investments with Institutional Property Advisors (IPA), a division of Marcus & Millichap, and leads a 22-member IPA Texas team. The Dallas-based Balthrope team completed more than $1.5 billion in multifamily sales in 2018.

In the Dallas market, two notable 2018 transactions highlighted demand for older, value-add assets in superior locations, and newly-built core properties in strong submarkets.

Churchill on the Park, a property built in 1999 with 448 units in North Dallas, and Jefferson Riverside, a circa-2017 property with 371 units in the booming Las Colinas submarket, drew interest from investors of all types: institutional, private, family offices and cross-border foreign. The two deals also highlighted IPA Texas’ ability to market two distinct, different product types within multifamily.
