Top Broker Honoree: Kelly Witherspoon
A managing director in Berkadia’s Austin office, Kelly Witherspoon is regarded as a highly enthusiastic, experienced investment sales professional who embodies a team-centric leadership mentality. In 2018, he amassed $142,625,000 in deal volume.
Witherspoon’s sale of the 168-unit, newly-built Trillium Terrace set the highest mark for Class A garden-style apartments in South Austin, on both a per-unit and per-square-foot basis. It represented a validating sale transaction to many garden-style developers throughout the Austin MSA, who previously had feared their potential exit metrics weren’t palatable enough to substantiate new construction.
Another 2018 highlight was Villas on the Hill, a 206-unit luxury apartment complex in Temple’s Medical and Educational District. The sale brought the highest price per unit in that MSA for Class A construction.
