Top Broker Honoree: Jim Bailey
2018 was a banner year for Cushman & Wakefield’s Jim Bailey, a vice chairman in the Houston office who specializes in tenant representation. He negotiated more than 2.8 million square feet of leases with dollar volume of nearly $413 million.
Among his most significant deals in 2018 was his representation of Vinson & Elkins in the law firm’s 212,000-square-foot anchor tenancy at Hines’ new downtown tower, thereby catapulting the development of a next-generation office building previously unseen in Houston.
For Anadarko Petroleum, Bailey arranged a lease for 295,743 square feet of office space in Denver’s Granite Tower, reportedly that city’s largest lease in 2018. Also for Anadarko, he negotiated the purchase of land for a 300,000-square-foot build-to-suit in Midland, TX that will house a new campus.
