Women in Real Estate 2018: Crescent’s McMillan Helps Shape the Charlotte Region

Director of Development for Crescent Communities since 2014, Elizabeth McMillan has helped shape the Charlotte region through projects of varying size and scope. These have ranged from Lake Norman-area residential developments to the River District, a 1,400-acre master-planned community that she is moving forward.

That’s just one of the reasons we chose McMillan as one of the 2018 Women in Real Estate Award winners. Connect Media’s Women in Real Estate Awards honor the achievements and inspirational stories of women who have reached respected positions of leadership and play key mentorship roles for others.

One of the hallmarks of McMillan’s professionalism is her ability to juggle complex projects while incorporating the ideas and requests of many people into a successful development plan. She consistently demonstrates her expertise in working with design teams, general contractors, clients and her Crescent colleagues. McMillan has demonstrated a gift for quickly capturing the issues and executing effectively. She is often asked to jump in on special projects for the company and its leadership.

McMillan’s passion for sustainable practices in the real estate industry has driven her to offer her expertise to a variety of Crescent projects throughout her career, which began on the Crescent Resources side in 2002 after graduating college. As a LEED Accredited Professional, she has taken the lead on multiple Crescent green building initiatives over the years and, more recently, on wellness initiatives.
