Next Generation Honoree: Brian Scruton Demonstrates True Grit
Brian Scruton joined Cushman & Wakefield in 2007 directly from Cornell University, where he was an accomplished student and captain of the men’s soccer team. As director in leasing services for Cushman & Wakefield’s Stamford, CT office, Scruton has represented tenants such as WWE, NBC Sports, and Chelsea Piers, and has worked with some of the largest landlords in Fairfield and Westchester Counties. He’s known for a tireless work ethic and a facility for getting tasks completed in a fraction of the time others would require.
That’s just one of the reasons we chose Scruton to be one of the National 2018 Next Generation Award winners. Connect Media’s second annual Next Generation Awards recognize young leaders in the commercial real estate industry who are likely to be influential for years to come.
About five years ago, Scruton was dealt a blow that would have sidelined most professionals: cancer of the vocal cords. While undergoing several months of treatment that took him out of the marketplace for at least one day per week, he continued to work tirelessly at Cushman & Wakefield, without complaining or missing a deadline.
Cancer-free since his treatment, Scruton plays a leadership role in the Stamford office’s annual Bowl-a-thon, a charity event that raises tens of thousands of dollars each year for organizations including Wounded Warriors, Sloan Kettering Medical and The Tiny Miracles Foundation.
