Next Generation Honoree: Berkadia’s Matthew Robbins Takes a Tailored Approach

Matthew Robbins began his career with Berkadia’s 15-member South Florida commercial mortgage banking team in 2013 as an analyst, exemplifying the most diligent and unyielding work ethic on the team. His eagerness to take on every new deal that arose led to a rapid leap from analyst to producer, where he provided clients with a high level of comfort on loan closings, thanks to his abundant knowledge of the commercial real estate finance process. In a short period of time, he became a top producer, contributing to the team’s $1 billion-plus in loan production each year.

Those are just some of the reasons we chose Robbins to be one of the National 2018 Next Generation Award winners. Connect Media’s second annual Next Generation Awards recognize young leaders in the commercial real estate industry who are likely to be influential for years to come.

Widely considered the most promising young up-and-comer at Berkadia, Robbins bases his success on not only procuring opportunities, but on his execution of them. He cultivates relationships with borrowers ranging from family-owned real estate firms to large institutional funds, and rather than take a one-size-fits all approach, he structures tailored financing solutions for varying client needs. Robbins continues to progress in commercial real estate by capitalizing on economic trends with innovative ideas that provide clients with an added advantage.
