Lollapalooza Set for Late-July Return to Grant Park
The four-day Lollapalooza music festival, cancelled amid the pandemic in 2020, will return to Grant Park this summer, organizers said. Festival dates are July 29 through August 1, with the lineup slated to be announced Wednesday morning, followed by the launch of ticket sales.
“There are no other festivals in this city this year that are as important as Lolla is to bringing visitors into our city,” said Michael Jacobson, president and CEO, Illinois Hotel and Lodging Association.
Lollapalooza organizers have gotten the go-ahead to stage the festival at full capacity. In 2019, the festival drew about 400,000 attendees.
However, there’s a condition for attendance. “To attend Lollapalooza you either will need to be fully vaccinated or you will need to provide a negative test for every day that you are planning to attend,” said Dr. Allison Arwady, Chicago Department of Public Health Commissioner.
